The Right of Publicity in New York
This class will provide a helpful overview of the right of publicity, which prohibits the unauthorized commercial use of an individual’s name, likeness, voice or other recognizable aspect. We will discuss the necessary components to bring a right of publicity claim, and when permission is required to use someone’s name or likeness, focusing on the laws in the State of New York.
This course will be taught by current VLA Law School Student Interns, and supervised by VLA staff.
