Description

The studies don't lie - art enhances brain function and over all well-being!

Art has the amazing ability to take us all on a different journey, with conjuring strong emotions and deep thoughts. When we see and produce art, it is more than just thinking it is beautiful, we actually place ourselves into those that grab our attention which is a process known as embodied cognition. Mirror neurons in the brain turn things you see in art into real emotions, and the more you analyze, the more you place yourself into it. Art is truly amazing to our brain as it has the ability to reduce stress, encourages creative thinking, boosts self esteem and can give one a sense of accomplishment. It helps train the brain to stay focused much like a meditative state which can temporarily push all your stress factors to the side.

Personally, by expressing my thoughts and feelings through painting and photography, it has been a huge revival for me and my mental stress after enduring such a major shift in life when diagnosed with brain cancer. It has done so well for me and my brain, that I would like for art to revive yours as well!

Come celebrate as the month of May is the brain cancer awareness month and we could all use a little fun and revival that art so consistently provides to our neurons!
