Proclamation Ceremony at St. Andrews Park 10:00am

The morning festivites will be hosted by comedian Kenny Williams. The program includes speakers ABA legends, Dennis Page (Slam Magazine),The Office of Brooklyn Borough President and NYC Councilmember Robert Cornegy (36th District).

A special version of "One Shining Moment" by Luther Vandross will be played and a special dedication to NBA, ABA, and basketball legends who are now playing in Heaven's Legaue (Pearl Washington, "Jumpin' Jackie Jackson, Calvin Ramsey, Walter Beasley, Dean Meminger, Malik Sealy, Roger Brown and several others).


NBA, ABA Basketball Legends Art Show & BBQ 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Art Show and BBQ at Boys & Girls High School

This is an unique opportunity for people to go back to the good old days of Brooklyn basketball and for younger fans to learn about basketball history.Art curator Andrew Nichols will reconstruct the history of basketball in Brooklyn from 1906 up until the present day Brooklyn Nets. There will be a focus on Connie Hawkins and other NYC legends.Sharing the platfrom is curator Rich Mason with The Thor David Photography Collection and Claude Johnson. In 2012 Claude was commissioned by the Brooklyn Nets to decorate the main concourse of the Nets Arena.


Adjacent to the art show are experienced chefs and cooks from Boys & Girls High School who will host a BBQ with a full fall menu.

$10 per person or $30 for a family of 4.

Tickets can be bought upon entry or online. Entrance is at Schenectady Av & Fulton St.

Family, friends and fans will gather to celebrate Connie Hawkins and pay tribute to those who have exemplified the Connie Hawkins legacy, overcoming challenges and persevering to become a legends .Honorees include: Colin Kaepernick (NFL), John Carlos (Olympic Runner), Ralph Green (Paralympic Skier), Tamika Mallory and Bertha Lewis (Activists)

2 hour cocktail hour

VIP privileges (special seating at the renaming ceremony, free passes to the BBQ and access to VIP areas)
