"The Reveal" follows a protagonist who feels boxed in by gender expectations, but with the support of their community (the audience), they find the courage to come out as gender nonconforming and embrace all parts of themself.

Performers wrestle with the pink and blue detritus of a gender reveal party, swim in the sea of gender identity, and ultimately find joy in gender. Optional interactive activities invite you to find joy in gender, too.

The 45 minute performance will be followed by a brief audience talkback. There will be Spanish translation throughout.

Masks required, and will be provided at the door. Capacity limited to 50.

This performance was created and produced by Catherine Siller, with support from the Somerville Arts Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

‘Revelarte’ presenta la historia de une protagonista, quien se siente atrapade por expectativas de género. Con el apoyo de la audiencia, encontrará el valor para afirmarse como una persona de género no conforme, aceptando todas las partes de sí misme.

Les performeres batallan con restos de decoraciones rosas y azules en una fiesta de revelación de género, nadan en un mar de identidades de género, y finalmente encuentran alegría en el género. Actividades interactivas opcionales te invitarán a ti también a encontrar alegría en tu género.
