About this event

This is a preview performance of They Can't Erase Me: Apolaki and the Opera of the Scorched Earth, a full-length opera which will premiere in Spring 2023. Continuing on her mission to celebrate and center the precolonial mythologies of her motherland, the Philippines, Tobin will tell the story of Apolaki, the God of Sun and War, as a means to discuss larger issues of colonialism, decolonization, diaspora, immigration, and climate change.
