Description
Ben Falk is a Vermont based landscape designer and author of the award winning "Resilient Farm and Homestead." Falk’s design firm Whole Systems Design utilizes Permaculture techniques and systems thinking to design for regeneration, resilience and abundance. Ben has studied architecture and landscape architecture at the graduate level and holds a master's degree in land-use planning and design. Six small farms across northeast Ohio are included on Falk’s tour, which will also include a public speaking engagement and a workshop for farmers.
The lecture event is hosted by the First Unitarian Universalist Church in Shaker Heights from 7-9pm on October 23. Ben will speak about self-sufficiency, developing an economically viable and resilient farming operation, and preparedness. This event will include book signing with copies available for purchase. Tickets are a suggested donation of $10.
The Farmer Forum is hosted by University of Akron Field Station in Bath, OH from 7-9pm on October 22. In this small gathering, farmers will have a chance to sit with Ben for an open discussion. This event includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and book signing, and is limited to forty guests. Tickets are $40.
