The RENCHER SYSTEM: Strategies and Methods
Alabama Genealogical Society's Spring Webinar Series for 2021
Four seminar programs will be prerecorded especially for our audience, featuring David E. Rencher. The seminars will be available for all registrants for 30 days, starting March 6, 2021.
Sessions:
1. Strategy for a Sound Beginning
This session helps craft the thinking behind organizing a solid foundation for your research. It provides techniques for the analysis, processes, comparisons and citations for conducting the research and correlating the evidence.
2. FamilySearch Historical Collections – Tips and Tricks
This session shares tips and tricks to searching record collections in FamilySearch. Learn new techniques for searching the collections, compiled genealogies, and the Library Catalog.
3. Finding Irish Records on FamilySearch & other Major Genealogy Websites
This session focuses on the largest Internet providers for Irish genealogical materials and illustrates search techniques and strategies for getting the best search results. Sites included are FamilySearch, Ancestry, and FindMyPast.
4. Methodology for Irish Immigration and Emigration
This session identifies specific strategies and methodologies for solving Irish immigration and emigration problems. A number of new tools, including country-wide indexes and DNA technology open new methods for solving complex problems.

David E. Rencher, AG®, CG®, FUGA, FIGRS
David is employed by the Family History Department in Salt Lake City as the Director of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah and as the Chief Genealogical Officer (CGO) for FamilySearch. He has been a professional genealogist since 1977.
