Join us as Bravebird and Threshold come together to bring you an exciting reveal of a new film that is currently being produced by one of Madison’s most respected and innovative filmmakers. Be the first audience to hear about the making of this unique and compelling film. Meet the extraordinary cast who will share their art, their perspectives and their hopes for this film and for its message.

In the last two years, Alex Miranda Cruz has filmed some of the most compelling narratives in the city of Madison. His production company Bravebird has received national and international acclaim for its authentic, creative, and diverse storytelling. Known for crafting stories that depict dignity, Alex is now venturing into producing his first feature length independent film during our country’s most trying times. Join us on June 18th as we reveal this historic and exciting new film by one of our city's most influential filmmakers.

Filmed primarily outdoors in Madison and the surrounding area, the film reflects life as it truly is in this time of global pandemic. It is being during the complexities and limitations imposed by COVID precautions and restrictions. An all-local crew of talented actors, camera operators, set designers, composers have been hand-picked to be the co-creative team that shapes this film. The process is a marked deviation from the “industry standard” and is being documented as the film evolves.

At a time when programs are being put on hold indefinitely, deals are evaporating, positions are terminated and promising prospects are but a shadow, Alex has decided to take on this project and make it happen without the assurance of the necessary financial resources. It is his hope that the uniqueness of the film and its production will earn recognition and acclaim through a supportive audience that will accompany its evolution in real time.

Our team is currently planning a series of events to accompany the creation of this important film and will be sharing more information in the next couple of weeks.
