Plus, three brand new cast members will be joining the team. A perfect show for veteran fans and new converts.***

The Red Shades is a rock opera about trans superheroes. Mixing elements of a rock concert and musical theater, it showcases the talent of trans and queer artists of color. The show tells the story of Ida, a teenage trans girl, who runs away from home to escape the traumas of small-town life and joins a gang of trans superheroes squatting in the Tenderloin. The show has drawn crowds of 200 in its first showcase and 300 in its second. In addition to performing successful runs at Pianofight and Fresh Meat Festival, The Red Shades headlined San Francisco Trans March 2018. It has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle and on KPFA. It is currently in collaboration with Z Space Theater to develop a full theatrical production. This Starline Social Club show will be one of the last chances to catch the show in "concert version" before it goes into theatrical development.

ACCESSIBILITY NOTE:
Unfortunately, this venue is not wheelchair accessible. There is a large flight of stairs to access the venue. Once you enter the venue, there are booths lining the back walls that will be reserved for people who need seating.

We also ask that everyone show up scent free to accommodate our friends with chemical sensitivities. We can't promise the venue will be 100% fragrance free (thousands of people enter the space every week) but we can all do our best to minimize scents as much as possible. See more here: https://eastbaymeditation.org/resources/fragrance-free-at-ebmc/
