Description
Documentary film-maker Cassie Jaye is coming to Birmingham to personally present her 'heretical' documentary delving into the world of the men’s rights movement where she discovers things aren’t quite as black and white as they seemed.
"The Red Pill is the story of a young feminist who did something few feminists have done: She listened, as non-judgmentally as possible, to men and women in the men’s rights movement. And she found, as anyone who has been immersed in the study of boys and men already knows, that they are suffering, victims of a feminism which is often misandrist about men, and relatively uninterested in the needs of boys." Mark Sherman PhD, Psychology Today.
Jaye's provocative film challenges radical feminism from the perspective of the effect is has on men and boys by negating or actively silencing their voice. In doing so, she also challenges her own beliefs and raises issues about the relative value of life and free speech to which we should all pay attention.
"We may have been building a better world for ourselves, but men, it seems, have been left behind in a way that will have negative repercussions for us all." Linda Kelsey, Daily Mail
Director Cassie Jaye says, “What I hope for the red pill is that it will inspire more dialogue about men’s issues and also help more people understand what the men’s rights platform is really all about.”
We're delighted to announce that following the screening there will be a Q & A with Cassie and a panel of special guests.
