THE RED PILL - Australian Premiere
Sun, November 6, 2016, 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM AEDT
When feminist filmmaker Cassie Jaye sets out to document the mysterious and polarizing world of the Men’s Rights Movement, she begins to question her own beliefs.
Jaye had only heard about the Men’s Rights Movement as being a misogynist hate-group aiming to turn back the clock on women’s rights, but when she spends a year filming the leaders and followers within the movement, she learns the various ways men are disadvantaged and discriminated against.
The Red Pill challenges the audience to pull back the veil, question societal norms, and expose themselves to an alternate perspective on gender equality, power and privilege.
“She is better than good at what she does; the word brilliant comes to mind.”

“This is a skillfully-made documentary with a point of view and a tender touch.”
–Mike McGranaghan (referring to “The Right to Love”), The Aisle Seat
“Throughout the film, Jaye keeps a steady hand and manages to gather and share information without judging nor proselytizing.”
–Barbara DeGrande (referring to “Daddy I Do”), Suite 101
“Jaye proves that she's an intelligent enough director to trust that you're able to evaluate the facts and make up your own mind.”

Mens Rights Melbourne was founded in 2014 by David Williams.
It’s creation was in conjunction with fellow group Mens Rights Sydney.
Not long into Mens Rights Melbourne existence we gained immediate attention when VICE NEWS published an article on our group.
Since then we have had several successes. From attending marches like white ribbon in 2014 bringing much needed light to the male victims of domestic violence, or attending the annual Slutwalks.
We have now have been given the opportunity by one of our benefactor to host the Australian Premiere of THE RED PILL.
