Event description

Description

There is a lot of common wisdom shared about relationship that are inherently flawed. Take the one about the power of true love – if two people really love each other, they can overcome anything; the important part is finding true love, the rest will fall into place. This flawed premise, among many others, has created misguided and unrealistic expectations about relationships for many people.

While these erroneous beliefs often appear positive on the surface and sound like they make a lot of sense, they come with a big cost. Ultimately they leave people feeling disillusioned, frustrated and in doubt about the strength of their love or relationship. But it isn’t because their relationships can’t overcome problems or aren’t good enough, rather it’s misinformation that confuses many people and leads them to seek the wrong solutions to the wrong problems. People work really hard at their relationships, but their efforts are misplaced because they are often working with misinformation.

Relationships, like most things in life, require skill and the right understanding. While it is true that as humans we have a natural instinct to bond and form a romantic connection, how to make our relationship happy, successful and last over time requires a conscious understanding on our part. In this "Interesting Talks" we will address some of the most commonly flawed relationship advice that are regularly affirmed in our our society today. We will explore how, even relationships with lots of love, can get side-tracked with the wrong information and end up falling apart.

This talk is for:

• Those who may feel confused about relationships and want more information

• Those who are seeking deeper understanding of relationships

Those who want to make more informed decisions about their future relationships

• Those who are single and want to form a successful long-term relationship

• Those who want to understand their relationship history and what may have gone wrong in the past

Those who many be having current relationship concerns
