An evening of seething lust and cheap hooch, featuring a rare showing of THE PROWLER (1951), plus readings from Gabriel Hart and crazed video shorts from Eric Davidson.
Eric Davidson – rock critic (Village Voice, Cleveland Scene, CMJ) and singer of New Bomb Turks and Livids – reads from his book “We Never Learn: The Gunk Punk Undergut, 1988-2001″ and shows video oddities from his personal VHS collection.
Gabriel Hart (The Starvations, Jail Weddings) will be reading some icky excerpts from his first TWO novels, coming out next year.
Plus! Joseph Losey’s lost film noir masterstroke, THE PROWLER (1951), starring the leering genius of Van Heflin as a cop who’s supposed to be investigating a late night distress call from a frightened maiden about a prowler, but who does pretty depraved prowling himself.
The $5 cover gets you a dollar-off ticket for your first beer bought after the flick, when Hart and Davidson will be sitting for a Q&A session, answering any and all questions about being low-rent rockers-cum-writers through the end of the 20th century and beyond.
Then they’ll provide tipsy tunes until closing time…
