Event description

Description

Many nonprofits are founded when individuals see a challenge and take actions to solve it -- it’s their passion and their story. That story inspired action. Yet along the way, many organizations lose sight of how to tell that story, both internally and externally. Within this session participants will develop a written outline of one or two stories that aim to inspire action from different audiences, such as individual donors, or constituents. This storytelling session would benefit fundraisers, communications/marketing staff, board members, and executive directors. Every participant will identify an important storyline that would resonate with a particular audience, and the actions they hope for. Through group and individual ideation, participants write and revise the outline of a compelling story that only they can tell.

Key Takeaways:

  • Recognize and learn how to apply the power of stories, and link them to specific actions
  • Attendees will gain knowledge of story structure which they can apply to a variety of stories in their org, to differing results
  • Determine between 2-5 compelling story lines to engage different audiences
  • Develop draft narrative of key story

This workshop will be presented by Bix Gabriel and Stephanie Arcella of TakeTwo Services
