Event description

Description

Infants and toddlers by nature are very curious. When children first discover the world around them, they do not know how to explain it, but they do absorb what they are experiencing through their senses. They use their sense to get acquainted with what is around them. As teachers, we do not plan enough intentional activities for children to use their senses to explore. Through this workshop, participants will be able to look outside the box to incorporate sensory content into their curriculum. When teachers stimulate the brain through children's senses, it helps strengthen neural pathways that are so important to children's development. Participants will have opportunities to make new sensory items to incorporate into classrooms and learn how to involve families in the sensory process at home.

This workshop will be facilitated by Tracy Martin-Turgeon and is CELP approved for 2 PD hours.
