Question 1

I am coming to Nashville for this workshop day. Where do you suggest I stay?

Accepted Answer

We recommend people stay at the Hampton Inn Nashville/Vanderbilt or the Hampton Inn/Ellison Place.  The hotels are much closer than any of the Airbnb options, none of which are in mid-town Nashville where Vanderbilt is located.

Question 2

Where should I park?

Accepted Answer

We suggest ride share or public transportation to Vanderbilt whenever possible as parking is limited. However, paid parking is available at the Wesley Place Garage on the first two levels located at 1963 Scarritt Place, Nashville, TN 37212. Paid street parking is also available.

Question 3

I have food restrictions. Will I be able to eat lunch with you?

Accepted Answer

Vanderbilt Divinity School provides a variety of options with every meal as many in our community are gluten free, vegetarian, dairy free, etc. Please email laine.c.walters.young@vanderbilt.edu if you are in need of a specific meal you do not think we will cover. We would be happy to tailor.

Question 4

Vanderbilt is big. Which building is the Divinity School?

Accepted Answer

The Divinity School is located up the hill from the intersection of 21st Avenue and Scarritt Place. Go up the immediate steps from the intersection up the hill, but turn to follow the path to the right before the second set of steps. This will lead to our main entrance. Signs will be posted.

Question 5

How do I get to Room 124?

Accepted Answer

Enter into our atrium lobby and either take the stairs to your front or the elevator to the left to the 1st floor from the ground floor. Turn right upon exiting the elevator or stairwell and 124 is the main room with the double doors down the hallway. Signs will be posted.

Question 6

I have accessibility needs and I see you have construction. How close can I get to the building?

Accepted Answer

Guests are welcome to drop off persons with disability needs in the roundabout drive in front of the divinity school and the Owen Graduate School for Business management at the bottom of the hill and then go park. There is a path to avoid stairs connecting the roundabout to the path up the hill.
