Event description
An interactive conference experience centered on Black /Brown maternal child health for community advocates, frontline staff & policymakers

About this Event

Health Federation of Philadelphia's Creating Collaborative Communities and Nurse-Family Partnership have come together to present The Power of Community to Improve Maternal Child Health, a conference to address the institutional racism that threatens the lives of Black / Brown mothers and their babies. This conference promotes self-advocacy for community members as well as much needed education for home visiting professionals and policy makers. Through the power of community we can improve the health outcomes of maternal child health in Philadelphia.

This virtual conference will take place over two days:

  • Day One: Thursday, May 13, 2021, 9:00A - 1:00P
  • Day Two: Friday, May 14, 2021, 9:00A - 1:00P

An electronic conference care package will be provided to all attendees.

Keynote Speaker: Joia Adele Crear-Perry, MD, FACOG – a thought leader around racism as a root cause of health inequities, Speaker, Trainer, Advocate, Policy Expert, and fighter for justice – is the Founder and President of the National Birth Equity Collaborative.
