Event description

Description

What does it mean to self-educate? Who can do it? And what conditions make it possible?

Join Bill Deresiewicz (author of Excellent Sheep) and Blake Boles (author of The Art of Self-Directed Education) for a rousing 90-minute conversation that dives into the intersections between teaching, learning, schooling, and unschooling.

This talk is appropriate for teenagers, college students, and adults—especially those interested in promoting self-motivated learning (both in K-12 and higher ed) and critically questioning the value and importance of 4-year college.

Doors open at 1:45pm. The talk begins at 2:00pm and concludes at 3:30pm, including time for audience questions. From 3:30-4:00pm, the space remains open and light refreshments will be provided.

Venue generously provided by Wayfinding Academy. Free street parking. Wheelchair accessible.

Learn more about Bill at billderesiewicz.com and Blake at blakeboles.com. Each will have signed books available for purchase.

The conversation will be published on Blake’s podcast, Off-Trail Learning.
