Event description

Description

The CCAS is excited to host Dr. Stacey Philbrick Yadav, Associate Professor of Political Science at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, to map out how the war in Yemen has multiplied the number of relevant political actors/groups that will need to be accounted for in any post-war political order, at the same time that formal diplomatic initiatives have approached the conflict through an unrealistically binary lens. Dr. Yadav will argue that this reproduces a major weakness of the prior transitional process, one that contributed to the war itself. She will also discuss the likely patterns of asymmetric and dependent (re)development that this is likely to produce if the current approach is not modified.

**The CCAS Boardroom is wheelchair accessible. For all other disability accommodations requests, please contact Azza Altiraifi at aa1967@georgetown.edu**

This lecture at Georgetown University is made possible in part by a Department of Education Title VI grant to support Georgetown University's National Resource Center - Middle East & North Africa.
