Escaping Peril: Time is an unfair advantage. Here’s more…
I like to say “Warren Buffett has the same amount of time I do. He’s apparently done something different with his.”
That statement usually gets a rueful chuckle. Now I don’t say it to make you (or me) feel bad about how we’ve spent our lives so far. It’s just a way to remind myself that I need a priority check.
A kind of reality check, looking at the way you are using your time—today, in this moment—tells you what your priority is. You can ask yourself:
Am I making a sales call? (not right now, but I need to right after lunch)
Am I writing a marketing message? (yes, I am!)
Am I thinking about how to get out of writing these marketing messages? (truth be told, it has crossed my mind in the last hour, several times).
Here’s the weird thing about being deliberate about how you’re using your time…
You don’t waste so much time. So you have more.
