Event description

Description

Cognac is a spirit of time and expresses unique attributes at different stages of aging.

Young cognacs offer fresh orchard and stonefruit flavors and take on tropical notes as they mature. After over a decade of aging, the ultimate tertiary aroma—rancio—is present. Described as nuttiness or earthiness, rancio is the result of long oak aging and a chemical reaction, adding a richness and depth. As one of the ultimate aging spirits, cognac is only made more elegant by the presence of rancio.

Join Mixologists Kellie Thorn (Hugh Acheson, Atlanta), Erick Castro (Polite Provisions, San Diego & Boilermaker, NYC) and Chris Patino (Simple Serve) to discover how cognac evolves from, white wine to an exceptional spirit through the course of distillation and aging. A tasting of a diverse range of producers and categories will explore how cognac matures, and lead to the discovery of the coveted attribute of older styles.

Registration and Tasting Room wristband required to attend.
Sign-up for one of two Brand Education workshops:
11AM or 12:15PM.
