Oregon MACRA Playbook Conference: Medicare’s Quality Payment Program and the Move to Value-Based Care

As part of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA), the Quality Payment Program (QPP) changes the Medicare payment system to reward physicians and other health care providers for delivering high-value care. The shift from a fee-for-service model to a value-based one will require changes throughout the health care system, including better information sharing and collaboration between providers, and among health care payers.

This Oregon MACRA Playbook event provides a forum for these stakeholders, including primary care providers, specialists, independent practices, health systems, health care payers and policymakers, to hear the latest Quality Payment Program information from national experts and local health care leaders, and better understand what these changes mean for their organization.

The event program includes:

  • Presentations from national experts from the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement (NRHI), the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Practical information on the two tracks of the Quality Payment Program: the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APM); detailed session on each of the MIPS categories (Quality, Improvement Activities, Advancing Care Information and Cost)
  • How other stakeholders, including payers and policymakers, have a role to play in aligning their work with the Quality Payment Program
  • Practical information for healthcare providers, administrators and others across primary care and specialties

Registration Fees: The registration fee includes a light breakfast and lunch.

  • Individual Registration: $200
  • Early bird registration: $150 (ends May 31st)

Registration closes June 9, 2017

The Oregon Medical Association (OMA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The OMA designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

We hope you join us on this journey towards a healthier Oregon!

Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation, Oregon Medical Association and Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement

The Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation (Q Corp) is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality and affordability of health care in Oregon by leading community collaborations and producing unbiased information. We work with the members of our community – including consumers, providers, employers, policymakers and health insurers – to improve the health of all Oregonians.

The Oregon Medical Association (OMA) is serving and supporting physicians in their efforts to improve the health of Oregonians. They envision a healthy Oregon cared for by a vibrant medical profession based on community, integrity, leadership, and unity.

The Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement (NRHI) is a national organization representing over thirty five member Regional Health Improvement Collaboratives (RHICs). These multi-stakeholder organizations are working in their regions and collaborating across regions to transform the healthcare delivery system and achieve the Triple Aim: improving the patient experience of care, including quality and satisfaction; improving the health of populations; and reducing the per-capita cost of healthcare. The RHICs are accomplishing this transformation by working directly with physicians and other healthcare providers, provider organizations, commercial and government payers, employers, consumers, and other healthcare-related organizations. Both NRHI and its members are non-profit, non-governmental organizations.
