Event description

Description

Dr. Alexes Harris, Professor, Sociology

Tuesday, May 22nd | 10:00-11:30 AM | CMU 126

During this Power Hour, Dr. Alexes Harris will discuss many of the questions, emotions, and thoughts that arise during graduate school such as having to leave family behind during these trying times in society, giving up a full-time job to go back to school, no longer having the time to serve the community in the same capacity, etc.

This interactive session will provide you with some tips and strategies to navigate the opportunity cost (and guilt) of graduate school and feel confident in doing so. This will be a safe space for you to ask some questions that everyone seems to assume they should know the answers to.

In order to make the best use of our limited funds, please keep in mind that our catering and seating numbers are based off of the amount of RSVPs we receive. If you RSVP and are no longer able to attend, please change your RSVP status or notify GO-MAP as soon as possible by emailing: gomap@u.washington.edu. We want to provide this professional development opportunity to as many students as possible. – Thank you!
