The Open Doorway's Monthly Public Addiction Advocacy Meeting
Wed, March 29, 2017, 7:00 PM – 8:45 PM EDT
Our meetings will now be held the last Wednesday of each month!
We are proud to announce that we have found a location on the Lower Cape for our monthly meetings, per public request! The Wellfleet Preservation Hall has generously offered us the use of their building! With the Lower Cape having very few alcohol and substance use resources, we wanted to be sure to hold the meetings here. Meetings will be welcome to all - you do not have to BE from the Lower Cape, we simply want to be a more convenient resource and have a firm presence there.
Due to the fact that February School Vacation falls during the last week of February, we have decided to postpone our meeting and resume next month. Our March meeting will be focused on Recovery. We are VERY proud to announce that our Guest Speaker will be Teen Challenge from Brockton along with their Teen Challenge Brockton Mens Choir! There are many paths to recovery and Teen Challenge offers one of these paths through their Christian faith based recovery model. There are 200 Teen Challenge USA programs throughout the United States. These Christian recovery centers offer a variety of programs that include drug addiction help, alcohol recovery, and services for youth, adults and families.
JOIN US FOR A NIGHT OF INSPIRATIONAL PERSONAL STORIES AND SONGS OF HOPE & RECOVERY! The Event is FREE and all are welcome. We will be accepting free will donations at the door to help cover the expenses of the Teen Challenge Mens Choir and to help support Teen Challenge Brockton and The Open Doorway of Cape Cod, Inc.
Please plan to come and be a part of the solution! We include the audience in our discussion and welcome your feedback and take your ideas to heart. We follow each meeting with a Q&A. When we have Board Meetings we discuss the audience ideas and try to incorporate them, when possible.
Our Open Door is currently under renovation, but we still welcome and encourage pictures of loved ones you have lost to addiction and will lovingly place them on our Door. We will also have our Wings of Love butterfly, which holds locks that can be engraved with your loved ones name. When the butterfly is full, we will have it placed somewhere public to be viewed by the community.
FREE event - NO TICKETS NECESSARY!
