"Between grief and nothing I will take grief." -William Faulkner
Come watch me as I suffer through my 26.2-mile endeavor through the City of Chicago! I am honored to say that I will be running for the organization UPS for DownS, an organization that I have spent many hours volunteering for, including the planning of the 2012 Chicago Marathon.
UPS for DownS is a parent directed, non-profit that fosters and inspires community acceptance and most importantly cultivates a system of support, education, and encouragement for families and individuals to realize the potential and abilities of those with Down syndrome.
The decision to endeavor on my 26.2 journey is due in large part to my friendship with my younger cousin, Sean. Born with Down syndrome, Sean has shown me the love and compassion that resides in everyone's heart, regardless of how many chromosomes you are born with.
Part of my charity athlete responsibilities is to raise $1500 or more. In order to achieve this goal I have set up this page and am asking that if anyone has any means to donate even the smallest sum of money, I would be immensely grateful.
If you do choose to donate, feel free to follow the following link, which will take you to the team donation site! Thank you again for all that you can contribute.
