Event description

Description

Educators who understand the basics of transition planning increase their capacity to develop realistic postsecondary goals, provide individualized transition services, and maintain overall Indicator 13 compliance. This introductory training will provide a brief overview of the foundational theories that guide quality transition planning and is open to all middle and high school educators, leaders, and support staff.

Participants will learn:

  • How to implement secondary transition best practices
  • Legal requirements for transition planning
  • How to create compliant secondary transition plans
  • How to capture this information within SEDS EasyIEP

Additionally, participants will receive information about interagency collaboration and become familiar with resources that can support transition plan development and implementation.

This half-day training will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m., Eighth Floor, Room 806 A/B and will repeat on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, 12:30-4 p.m., Third Floor Grand Hall, Side B. Both sessions will cover the same content.
