Readers worldwide are passionately devoted to Ferrante’s Neapolitan Quartet,” books that focus on gender inequality and its devastating effects on women’s lives. There are vital themes woven into the stories that are not obvious on first reading.

Karen Bojar explores the secrets of Ferrante’s power. She is Professor Emerita of English and Women’s Studies at CCP, former President of Philadelphia’s NOW chapter, a former committee person, Vice-Chair of the Philadelphia Commission for Women, and author of a 2016 book exploring the history of feminism in City politics.
