Event description
Join the Grounded Goodwife and delve into the “unsanitized herstory” of Gilded Age life in their funny, but frank presentation.

About this Event

Join the Grounded Goodwife, a mother/daughter team of Velya Jancz-Urban and Ehris Urban, at the Isham-Terry House on Sunday, March 29th from 2 to 4 pm to delve into the “unsanitized herstory” of Gilded Age life in their funny, but frank presentation.

Binge-watch Vikings, Turn, or Frontier, and you’ll see people being disemboweled, tortured, and decapitated – but you won’t see anything about menstruation, chamber pots, birth control, breastfeeding, or poopy babies. The Grounded Goodwife team explores the engrossing “taboo” subjects that are often omitted from history. While it’s said ‘The future is female,’ remember – so is the past! For more information about the Ground Goodwife and the content they cover, visit their website https://groundedgoodwife.com/.

Admission is $20, $15 for CTL Members and includes a tour of the Isham-Terry House following the program. For more information, to purchase a membership, or for member discount code, call 860.247.8996 x 11 or email isham.terry@ctlandmarks.org.
