So who are the Not Quite Big Band?

NQBB is a 17-piece powerhouse ensemble composed of horns, rhythm, and vocals... What started as jam sessions among friends has evolved into a professional, close-knit musical family bound by a shared passion for performing and a mission to connect people through music....

The band operates under the fresh vision and direction of Will Dakin, with the effortlessly smooth vocals of James Stephens & vocalist Grete Eitmantyte.

Electrifying Big Band Energy: NQBB is renowned for its high-energy performances and infectious enthusiasm... Their sound described as "big, bold and bassy"...

Diverse Repertoire & Reimagined Classics: They offer a unique setlist that spans a wide range of genres, from swing and jazz to pop, blues, and soul... Take iconic hits from artists like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Michael Bublé, and infuse them with their signature big band sound, while delivering specially crafted renditions of modern tracks by artists such as Beyoncé, Muse, Bruno Mars, Queen & ABBA!!!

Homage to the Golden Era with a Modern Twist:

Their show pays homage to the golden era of entertainment, channelling the wit, charm, and smooth vocals reminiscent of the legendary Rat Pack lounge. Crucially, they don't just recreate the past; they reinvent it, infusing their signature sound with high-energy party tracks and modern hits, ensuring every night ends with guests on their feet, singing, and dancing well into the early hours.

On-Stage Chemistry: The camaraderie and deep bond among the musicians are evident, shining through in their performances and contributing to razor-sharp wit, rhythm, velvet-smooth harmonies, and an "on-stage chemistry you can’t fake"...

They hit every stage with the same enthusiasm they had at their first gig.
