Thank you for your interest in "The Next Worship" event featuring Sandra Maria Van Opstal. Sandra provides biblical foundations for multiethnic worship, with practical tools and resources for planning services that reflect God's invitation for all people to praise him. When multiethnic worship is done well, the church models reconciliation and prophetic justice, heralding God's good news for the world.
Sandra Maria Van Opstal, a second-generation Latina, is the Executive Pastor at Grace and Peace Community in Chicago. She is a liturgist and activist who is passionate about mobilizing Christians for reconciliation and justice and creating spaces where voices from different cultures can come together and overcome division. Sandra served as Director of Worship for the Urbana Missions Conference. Sandra is also the Worship Director for the Global Lausanne Younger Leaders Gathering 2016. Sandra holds a Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and has authored two books on worship, The Mission of Worship and her latest book The Next Worship.
