The Next Frontier: Why Africa's Tech Scene is Poised to Take Off
On Thursday, 29th September, MEST hosts its first TNF event in London!
Come meet us at Shack 15. Let's break down why Africa's tech scene is poised for an exciting take off.
Fresh off the heels from his first trip to Africa earlier this month, Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has said the “future of the world” will be built on the African continent.
At MEST we couldn’t agree more. We’ve been investing in African entrepreneurs since 2008, via an entrepreneurial training program, venture fund, and incubator based in Ghana (with points of presence in Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya) that works with individuals to provide them with the skills needed to launch globally successful software companies.
With strong ties to Silicon Valley, MEST has hosted a series of Africa-focused networking events dubbed The Next Frontier (TNF) – and we’re excited to announce our first London TNF, taking place on Thursday, September 29. The objective of TNF is to strengthen the entrepreneurial and diaspora communities in each pocket of the globe, and to allow networking / exchange of information of what’s happening on the African continent.
In honour of the upcoming Nigerian Independence Day (October 1), this TNF edition will have a special focus on Nigeria, which has been increasingly been recognized as a leading player in the African tech ecosystem.
Key speakers from multi-national tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Samsung, as well as the founders of successful African tech startups have joined as panelists for TNF’s in the past – and this one will be no different.
