Ladies, grab your biggest hat and gentlemen straighten your bowtie...Rising Star Equestrian Center and Gadabouts Catering are hosting the 2nd Annual Kentucky Derby Fundraiser to benefit Spirit Ride Therapeutic Riding Center. You won't go home hungry and you won't go home empty-handed. Enjoy delicious 'Derby Style' faire, along with classic Mint Juleps, bourbon, beer and wine. Live music, friendly 'wagering', door prizes, raffles, swag bags for each guest, and a wonderful silent auction will only be part of the fun. Where else will you see the live viewing of the Derby in an actual stable with real horses! It's as close to being at the Derby as it gets...for a fraction of the price and for a great cause!

Each ticket includes entrance to the event, two drink tickets, red carpet photo, therapeutic riding demonstrations, heavy hors d'oeuvres, dessert, live music, live art, give aways, and viewing of the 145th Kentucky Derby! Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Due to the nature of the event, we ask that guests be at least 18 years of age. Please bring an ID if desiring to consume alcoholic beverages.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Please follow the signs for parking. Most guests will be directed to the Honey Bear Compground for parking and will be shuttled to the venue (just down the road). If you require parking closer to the venue due to mobility issues, please tell the attendant on site and we will do our best to accomodate you. Guests requiring drop off at the door will be accomodated, simply tell the parking attendant and you will be assisted. Follow GPS to 229 Honey Bear Campground Road, Boone, NC 28607

What if it rains?

No problem! The Derby is located indoors so a little rain won't affect a thing.

What attire is appropriate for the event?

The Derby Party is a FUN and FANCY event! We encourage guests to wear derby attire such as big hats and pretty dresses for the ladies, or bow ties and seersucker sport coats for the men. There will be prizes for the best hat and the best dressed couple. But...if you just can't be without your favorite pair of jeans...that's fine, too - as long as you have a good time! NOTE: While most events will be inside the venue on an even floor surface, flats may be a good choice of footwear as this is located at a working equestrian center...however - if you feel the need to rock the high heels...rock on!

What's the refund policy?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds. If you discover that you cannot attend, we encourage you to gift your ticket to a friend. Rest assured that 100% of the funds raised will directly benefit Spirit Ride Therapeutic Riding Center. Your ticket purchase will have a huge impact on the life of a child with special needs.
