As the state of Israel moves into its eighth decade, we'll honor the chalutzim (pioneers) who founded Israel -- and celebrate the pioneers of today and tomorrow! Israel is home to incredible innovation, creativity and ingenuity -- in everything from technology to the visual and performing arts to urban design and transformative community to, YES, food.
Come early and enjoy speakers and activities for all ages! Stay for some mouth-watering samples of the new Israeli cuisine! Food will be available for purchase.

Keynote Speaker Rabbi Uri Regev - Imagine Israel: The Struggle for Religious Freedom
Former president of the World Union for Progressive Judaism, a global umbrella organization of the Progressive, Reform, Liberal and Reconstructionist movements, serving more than 1,200 congregations and communities in 42 countries on six continents.
Niv Rabino - The World's First Responders
Niv Rabino is head of mission in Texas with IsraAID, Israel’s largest humanitarian, non-governmental organization committed to providing life-saving emergency relief and durable solutions for populations affected by natural disasters, epidemics and post-conflict situations. Rabino formally served as the Head of Mission in Greece on the Island of Lesvos.
Ronit Gudes Totah - The Role of Women in Activism in Israel
Regional director of the Israeli American Council and former legislative liaison at the Department of Congressional Affairs at the Embassy of Israel.
Anton Marks - Urban Kibbutzim in Israel
Founding member of the largest urban kibbutz in Israel and shlichut for Habonim Dror, a summer camp.
Vered Guttman - The Israeli Culinary Scene
Chef and caterer with a food column for Ha’aretz who has been featured on Slate, NPR, and in The Washington Post. Vered’s presentation has been made possible by a generous grant from the Jewish Food Experience and the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.

Israeli Society and Politics Through Rock and Pop Music
Author of Between Sodom and Eden: A Gay Journey Through Today’s Changing Israel (Columbia University Press 2000). He also teaches Modern Hebrew and Israeli Society and Politics Through Rock and Pop Music to TRS religious school students.
