Description

This business seminar targets organisations aiming to understand and exploit their data. Short presentations from experts in GDPR, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence will provide delegates with inspiration and knowledge about how to manage and use their data in the emerging economy.

The seminar will provide you with an enhanced understanding of data in business, who is controlling it, how is it used and the implications of data leaks. It will provide you with an overview of the challenges of data in global markets and the opportunities offered by AI and data science.


Speakers include:

Professor Chris Bowerman, a Professor of Data Science whose work is centred around the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in Data Science. Chris has worked across many sectors including security, the creative sector and health.

David Gibson, Head of Charities Fundraising Regulation at Short, Richardson and Forth. In addition to his innovative work with charities, David has a growing interest in legal services involving data and in how AI could impact on the legal sector.

Andrew Swan is the Head of Regulation and Financial Crime at Short, Richardson and Forth. dealing with many investigations and prosecutions by the various regulatory bodies. Andrew is particularly renowned nationally for representing clients in respect of data protection breaches, dealing specifically with the Information Commissioner's Office and the Ministry of Justice.

Professor Yonghong Peng, is a Professor of Data Science and leads research and innovation in Data Science and Big Data at the University of Sunderland. He has significant international links and is a member of Big Data Task Force of China Information Industry Association.

Russell James, Director of calljames.co, is an experienced marketer having built a boutique agency in Durham to service some of the world’s leading corporate organisations with international marketing campaigns. A respected commentator, political lobbyist, accomplished technologist and corporate consultant, Russell articulates the regulatory challenges facing marketers and technology innovators whose processes and platforms include AI, Big-Data, Ad-tech and IOT.
