About this event
Through community collaborations Bluebird Cultural Initiative and the NACPOMA (Native American Community Partners of Omaha Metro Area) Coalition, made up of local Native American professionals/community workers, will share their insight and knowledge of the journey of the Native American people through a panelist discussion. Beginning with acknowledging the historical/generational trauma endured, the conversation then moves to bring awareness to the resiliency that the community possesses and reiterates Natives are a people of the present and not just of the past. The current community work that is being done will be showcased including adolescent input. The afternoon will include planning for the future small and group discussions of the roles that the community-at-large holds to ensure the inclusivity of the Native people in conversations and services that are designed to serve them.
