Event description

Join the Division of Institutional Equity and Inclusion for a workshop with the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI), an international non-profit leadership development network dedicated to the elimination of racism and other forms of oppression. Rooted in an understanding of individual, community, and systemic change, NCBI leaders work with public and private organizations to further cultural competence, collaboration and partnerships, and effective relationships within and across group identities.

THURSDAY, 12/1 - 5pm-8pm in New London Hall 101 (dinner provided)

NCBI will introduce their Controversial Issues Process — a method for assisting diverse groups to work together even in tough, emotionally-charged conflicts. Dinner will be served.

FRIDAY, 12/2 - 9am-2:30pm in Blaustein - Ernst Commons (lunch provided)

NCBI presents a Welcoming Diversity / Prejudice Reduction Workshop — This session shows how participants have been taught to think and act as members of their racial, gender, and other identity groups and provides skills for bridging differences. Lunch will be served.
