About this event
Join Abstract without Abstraction and Scorpio Palace as they present an evening with Tatsuya Nakatani and his 10-piece Nakatani Gong Orchestra (N.G.O.).
N.G.O. is a large ensemble touring contemporary sound art project. Local musicians are trained in Nakatani’s technique for playing his adapted bowed gong before he conducts them in a performance of his original composition. In the last decade, the NGO has performed hundreds of concerts involving thousands of participants around the world in the creation of these transformative sound works.
Arrive on time for this special, limited capacity event. Doors open at 7:30pm with the performance beginning promptly at 8pm.
For this evening only, the N.G.O. will be preceded by a trio performance between Tatsuya Nakatani and two Denver-based improvisers, Ryan McRyhew, a synthesist who will be performing on a Hordijk system, in honor of the late, great designer Rob Hordijk, and multi-instrumentalist Ben Donehower.
