Registration will open Tuesday, January 22nd at 12:00pm

In this workshop, students will learn about the 2nd century Egyptian binding, the Nag Hammadi. Students will learn how these books were traditionally constructed and will recreate the binding entirely with paper.

Candy Alexandra González is a Philly-based, Latinx artist and poet from Miami, Fl. Candy received her MFA in Book Arts + Printmaking from The University of the Arts in 2017. Candy’s art works captures the essence of her experience as a first-generation immigrant in the United States.

This free workshop will take place 10 AM - 1 PM in Room 108, 1st floor of the Parkway Central Library.

The Art Department partners with the Philadelphia Center for the Book to bring free book arts workshops to Parkway Central every month from September to May.
