Join Vishwa for a 3 session workshop series exploring the practices of pranayama, energetic movement, and meditation. Sessions complement and build upon each other, offering experiences in the practices of Tantric yoga, breath work, and mindful stillness. This workshop is open to ALL levels. Sessions may be taken individually or students may enroll for the full workshop.

The Secrets of Pranayama - The Science of Breath

Pranayama, the science of breath, is considered to be yoga’s most transformative practice and serves as the bridge which connects the mind and body. The power of breath lies within its simplicity and universal accessibility. This session provides a foundation for understanding the uses and methods of conscious breath. Here, along with Tantric Yoga asana (physical yoga postures), we explore the benefits of classical pranayama and supporting breath techniques through theory and guided practices.

What is Tantric yoga and why practice it?

The Tantric text describes one’s body as a sacred temple, housing the breath, mind, and soul. A physical practice intends to keep your body healthy through a journey towards increasing flexibility, strength, and body purification. This workshop introduces the concepts of Tantric Yoga; foundations of the practice, methods, and postures (asanas). Along with intentional breath work (pranayama), this introduction provides one “building block” of a physical Tantric Yoga practice. Students can expect to learn about the stages of this ancient practice and the many benefits of intentional energetic movement.

The Art of Meditation - Movement into Stillness

Meditation, the art of looking inside and discovering one’s inner being is a practice passed down through centuries to enhance concentration, focus, and guide towards inner stillness. This workshop will first prepare students for meditation using pranayama and asana practices. We will then focus on the art of being still, and highlight the capacity to transform our day to day life into a more meaningful and fulfilling existence. Through various techniques, we will explore bringing the mind into a meditative state. This will provide the opportunity to find a method which resonates best with you to encourage the beginnings of a daily practice.

Individual Sessions: $35
Full Weekend Series (all 3 sessions): $90
Please bring a yoga mat. You may also bring a strap/bolster/blanket/pillow if you choose.
