Description

Sampling of musical compositions came into mainstream music with the rise of rap music as a genre. Using others music without their permission is often illegal. Nova Southeastern University's Copyright Officer, Stephen Carlisle, J.D., takes a legal tour through the history and legalities of sampling, both of musical compositions and sound recordings.
