THE MURPHS / WILL OVERMAN / CODY BOLDEN

**************************

The Murphs

The Murphs are an American roots rock band featuring Austin Coleman, Katie Coleman, Cody Marlowe, and Rob D’Angelo. The four friends constructed the idea of the band at an unknown party in 2017. The name stems from a favorite dive bar in Saint Simons Island called Murphy’s Tavern. The group declared themselves regulars of the joint; The Murphs. From Blues and Folk to Rock and Country, a wide variety of genres are found in their music; all directed to the expression of true, honest rock n roll. Singer/songwriter Austin Coleman (www.austincolemanmusic.com) primarily plays bass in the band adding lead and harmony vocals throughout the set. His wife, Katie, plays keys, tambourine, and adds lead and harmony vocals. Brother of Katie, Cody Marlowe (www.codymarlowe.com) sings and plays drums. Rob D’Angelo focuses on guitar leads and riffs. Together, this family band blends intriguing harmonies and tones reminiscent of music found in the old days.

Will Overman

The music of Will Overman is at once melodic as it is relentless, as refreshingly unique as it is familiar and evocative.

Overman’s music is rooted deeply in the South yet transcends genres and convention, blending essential elements of rock, blues, country, and pop. His songs lean toward a collective swell reminiscent of James Taylor, Jason Isbell, and Josh Ritter.

A Virginia native, Overman pairs sleek vocals with haunting rhythm and introspective melody.

He takes on love, life and loss. All with an edge driven deep in reality.

Whether performing solo or with a full band, Overman is a young Bruce Springsteen, (think “Nebraska”). He’s a folksinger and a rocker (think “Born to Run”), fronting a talented group of musicians swinging from flawless riffs to intoxicating beats.

Overman is quickly building a reputation as a fan favorite at music festivals including MerleFest, Rooster Walk Music and Arts Festival, Front Porch Fest and Appaloosa Roots Music Festival. He’s slated to play at the 2017 Lynchstock and is a finalist in the “Rockn to Lockn” contest. And he recently submitted this to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert.

Cody Bolden

Cody Bolden is a singer-songwriter based in Canton, Georgia. He was raised between Alabama and Georgia, traveling between homes. Music seems to be in the background of all of Cody’s memories, from his Mom singing folk songs while cooking breakfast in the morning to his Dad’s radio always being on and dialed to an Outlaw Country station.

Although music was continuously present, Cody only recently decided to pick-up a guitar and start making music of his own. Two years into his musical journey, Cody enjoys writing and performing songs about things that are important to him, allowing his parents’ musical preferences to influence his sound.
