Description

Beloved Kermit and the Muppets gang take over Old Pasadena's Central Park for a free screening of The Muppet Movie (1979, G - 95 min), part of the month-long Old Pasadena Summer Cinema series.

Old Pasadena Summer Cinema returns for another year as a month-long, FREE movie series featuring 17 screenings in unique urban locations. Running from July 5 – July 28, this annual summer film program celebrates motion picture in all forms, offering a variety of audience-pleasing movie titles and genres at diverse locales throughout the historic district of Old Pasadena. All the Old Pasadena Summer Cinema screenings are free and open to the public. Visit www.oldpasadena.org/summercinema for complete listings.

On SATURDAY JULY 28, the series comes to a close with the screening of The Muppet Movie. Kermit the Frog embarks on a cross-country trip to Hollywood in the first theatrical film featuring Jim Henson’s Muppets. Along the way, Kermit is pursued by the evil restaurateur Doc Hopper and picks up several Muppet friends that share his show business dream, resulting in an epic road trip comedy that also features many familiar human cameos.

Celebrate the art and fun of puppeteering! Beginning at 6:30pm, enjoy a free craft with the Armory Center for the Arts, roving puppeteers, photo ops, face-painting, DJ sets from KCRW’s Glenn Red, and free treats from Paradis while supplies last. Grab a spot on the beautiful lawn - picnicking in the park is encouraged! All activities are free and open to the public.

No tickets are required. Seating is first-come, first-served -- arrive early for the best spots!
