Event description

Come with us on a journey back in time to February, 1952, to the English countryside in the dead of winter. A reservation awaits you at Monkswell Manor, an old but comfortable manor house that has served Mollie's family for generations. Your gracious hosts, Mollie and Giles Ralston, welcome their guests on the first night the house is open for business. Little do they know, their guests (you) are about to witness a cold-blooded murder only a few feet away from where you sit.

This is not your typical theater. There are no rows of seats nor a proscenium stage. This is an immersive, intimate production in which you will be inside the very room where the actors perform, inside Monkswell Manor House. There is no bad seat, nor any bad angle. Conversations - and the murder - will happen only feet from your eyes. As our guest, you will enjoy feeling close to the actors and the place in which they move. You can open drawers, pick up props, and explore the Manor as much as you like.

Only 35 tickets will be sold for each show. We anticipate selling out on weekends, so purchase your tickets early. Please note that only reserved seat tickets are guaranteed a seat. There are approximately 25 seats available. General ticketholders may need to stand or squeeze into a couch where they can.

Special Packages Offered - Available by Presale Only

  • Bringing Down the Mouse Date Night Package for 2: cheese & fruit tray, a bottle of prosecco, and a delicious mini bundt cake of your choice to share from Nothing Bundt Cakes, along with 2 reserved seats

  • Mouse of Cards: a choice of cheese platter, choice of beverage, and choice of a cookie or brownie, and one reserved seating ticket

  • Amy Winemouse: cut to the front of the line with this package! Includes a chicken or veggie wrap, choice of beverage, a mini bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, and a reserved seat. Note the later you arrive, the fewer your choice of seats.

Show Dates: February 16 - March 11, 2018 Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2pm

Show Location: 12604 SW Farmington Road in Beaverton, Oregon

What exactly do you mean by “immersive”?

Generally speaking, audience members are not merely passive bystanders. They are in the middle of the action, meeting the eyes of the actors, and essentially positioned in the middle of the set. As an audience member, you will be able to touch the props, set pieces, even open drawers and doors to see what’s inside. You will be encouraged to explore Monkswell Manor and find cleverly hidden riddles and possible clues to a murder, up until the action begins.

Am I guaranteed a seat during the show?

Seats are only guaranteed with the purchase a reserved seat ticket. General admission tickets are first come, first serve. Only 35 tickets are available per show, and 30 seats are guaranteed. In the event of a sold out show, 5 people may have to stand during the show. We recommend comfortable shoes for those who purchase general admission tickets and find themselves unable to find a seat. You will be notified ahead of time should your show sell out.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

The production is recommended for ages 15 and older due to subject matter. No children under 12 will be admitted.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

DRIVING: Find street parking to the east on SW Watson or SW Washington, the west on SW Main and SW Angel Avenue, or to the south on SW 1st or 2nd.

PUBLIC TRANSIT: BY BUS & TRAIN (less walking): Take the red or blue line to the Beaverton Transit Center and transfer to the #78 bus. Get off at SW Watson and Broadway.

BY TRAIN ONLY: Take the Max red or blue line to the Beaverton Central Max Stop and walk .3 miles south along SW Watson Avenue.

What food and drink are available?

Monkswell Manor has a selection of food items ranging from small snacks like candy bars and peanuts to full meal deals like veggie and Thai chicken wraps. Beer and wine available on Friday and Saturday nights, and coffee, tea, and soft drinks available every night.

I’d like to plan dinner ahead of the play. What are my options?

Our theater features lovely wraps and a ploughman's platter for purchase at our bar. If you'd rather have hot food, we highly recommend Thai Hi 5, located only about two blocks from our space. They offer amazing fresh Thai food with good service. Not in the mood for Thai? The Broadway Saloon at 12434 SW Broadway offers basic American fare (steak, burgers, etc.) at a decent price. If Korean BBQ gets your wheels turning, then Du Kuh Bee at 12590 SW 1st St is a great new addition to Beaverton. Finally, for Italian fare, we recommend Giovanni’s Restaurant, at 12390 SW Broadway. It’s an Italian eatery with an old school vibe that will make you say “mama mia!”

What's the refund policy?

No refunds, unless incliment weather or force majure cancels the performance.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we will have your name on our list if you purchase your tickets here on Eventbrite.
