Introduction to the Moon Sequence

The Moon Sequence is a therapeutic yoga flow practiced with a gentle approach. It is spacious, grounding and reflective and complements more fiery, upper body focussed sequences such as the Ashtanga Primary series. The moon sequence emphasises the lower body enlivening your hips and pelvis, releasing the shoulders and developing deeper intuition, core awareness and connection with body and self.

As Surya Namaskar triggers a more active outward focus, encouraging fire and passion to drive action, The Moon Sequence has a reflective depth; a warm and deeply nourishing movement ritual able to help replenish our vital energy.

In this workshop, you will be introduced to the relevance of the moon cycles and be guided to explore and feel your body, breath and movement in this beautiful, calming sequence. The moon sequence is suitable for men and women of all ages and stages including during low energy, some injuries and illness, menstruation, ovulation and pregnancy.

The Moon Sequence was created by Yoga Teacher, Matthew Sweeney.

During the workshop you will:

  • Explore the significance of the lunar cycle in relationship to our body
  • Enjoy a guided moon sequence yoga flow
  • Time for discussion and questions
  • Be introduced to techniques for increasing awareness of the impact of the lunar cycle on our body, mind and emotions
  • Experience an embodied meditation
  • Enjoy complimentary raw treats and herbal teas with new friends
  • Each participant will receive a handout covering the subject matter explored in the workshop.

Thaedra is an experienced yoga teacher with a strong commitment to self- development and self-healing and sharing what she learns through practice, life experience, ongoing training and teaching. As a yoga teacher and Biodynamic Craniosacral therapist, Thaedra values yoga as a practical resource for life. She is passionate about embodiment, and is skilled at holding a nurturing, impartial space for students to explore their sensations, connect with themselves at their core, deepen their intuition and experience equilibrium in the mind, body and soul.

Thaedra’s teaching method is earthy and fluid drawing on her experience in Hatha yoga in the Ashtanga and Iyengar traditions, dance and explorations through somatic practices and her work as a craniosacral therapist. Thaedra’s classes encourage strength, flexibility and balance in the mind and body and support self-healing.

Qualifications:

2016: 2 year Diploma of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (Body Intelligence)
