The Midnight Spell: Clara & the Nutcracker

Celebrate the holidays with local composers & musicians, new original children's artwork, and a retelling of the famous Nutcracker story!

This concert includes holiday-themed performances by local up-and-coming composers, culminating in a performance of Tiwari's “The Midnight Spell: Clara & the Nutcracker”. Scored for 10 instruments and a narrator, "Clara & the Nutcracker" is a 30-minute, child-friendly retelling of E.T.A. Hoffmann's classic "Nutcracker" story with a focus on teaching young audiences about the instruments of the orchestra. Each movement of the piece is accompanied by artwork made by young children, depicting different parts of the story.
