Presented by Saint Peter’s Church and Central Synagogue
Dr. Steven Fine, Professor of Jewish History at Yeshiva University, presents a lecture on the Menorah, and its place in art, religious life, and culture. The lecture is part of a series of events related to Symbols of Judaism, a contemporary mosaic art installation on view in Saint Peter’s Living Room Gallery.
Professor Fine’s blend of history, rabbinic literature, archaeology and art, together with deep engagement with historiography and contemporary culture, is expressed in a broad range of publications. His most recent book is The Menorah: From the Bible to Modern Israel, published by Harvard University Press.
Join the communities of Central Synagogue and Saint Peter’s Church, long-time interfaith partners, for this public lecture at Saint Peter’s. The event is free, but registration in advance is requested.
