The Healthy St. Mary's Partnership (HSMP) invites the community to attend a special session of the 2017 HSMP Annual Meeting on the Maryland Opioid Crisis.

This session will be held on September 21, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, directly following the 2017 HSMP Annual Meeting.

HSMP is pleased to announce the following distinguished speakers for this special session:

  • Clay B. Stamp, Executive Director of the Opioid Operational Command Center, Senior Emergency Management Advisor to the Governor and Chair of the Governor's Emergency Management Advisory Council, will present on the Maryland Opioid Operational Command Center and how the state of Maryland is working to combat the heroin and opioid epidemic.
  • Meenakshi G. Brewster, MD, MPH, Health Officer for St. Mary's County, will provide an overview of initiatives and programs that are being implemented in St. Mary's County to address the heroin and opioid crisis.

Tickets are not required for admission, but registration is requested to ensure adequate seating.

The St. Mary’s County Health Department will offer the Overdose Response Program for free to any interested community members, directly following the presentations and Q&A. The Overdose Response Program trains participants how to recognize and assist someone experiencing an opioid overdose when emergency medical services are not immediately available.
