The Marilyn K. Glick Women’s Enrichment Series presents Eva Mozes Kor
---Survivor of Holocaust Twin Experiments and Forgiveness Advocate
The Propylaeum Historic Foundation announces the Marilyn K. Glick Women’s Enrichment Series. Three notable Indiana women who have made significant impacts on others during their lives have agreed to participate in this series at the Propylaeum in Indianapolis, IN.
On Thursday, October 20, 2016, Eva Mozes Kor will be the inaugural speaker. She will share her incredible life experiences. Kor is a survivor of the Holocaust, a forgiveness advocate, and a popular public speaker. Powered by a “never-give-up attitude,” Kor emerged from a trauma-filled childhood as a brilliant example of the human spirit’s power to overcome. She is a community leader, champion of human rights and tireless educator.
Eva Mozes was born in 1934 in the tiny village of Portz, Romania. In 1944, she and her family were transported to the Auschwitz death camp. She and her twin, Miriam, became part of a group of children used in genetic experiments under the direction of Dr. Josef Mengele.
In 1995, Kor opened the CANDLES Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute, IN. The museum honors and celebrates the lives of the 3,000 twins who were victims of the deadly experiments.
Marianne Glick has made a generous donation in honor of her late mother, Marilyn K. Glick, for the Women’s Enrichment Series. The philanthropic values established by Marilyn and Gene Glick and passed on to their family are embodied by the themes of this series. The second and third speakers are:
Gayle Cook, Thursday, February 16, 2017
