Speakers:

Jeri Ellsworth

Jeri is an engineer, inventor, entrepreneur, and futurist with an extensive career that ranges from race car fabrication, retail computer stores, chip design, consumer electronics, low earth orbit rockets and augmented reality.

Jeri began working on AR/VR when she was recruited by the video game and content delivery company Valve to assemble a research and development team to create products that enhance the gaming experience and bring more of the family together in the living room. Along with the team, she helped develop fundamental technology used in modern VR headsets, gaming controllers, and novel user interactions.

From her findings around human interaction at Valve, Jeri became convinced augmented reality will be the next wave of computing and media interactions and founded castAR, a company that would produce easy to use and turnkey AR headsets. The design received critical praise and awards by the press and industry experts.

Ryan Hickman

Ryan Hickman

Ryan just rejoined Google after founding and selling a robotics startup called TickTock AI. Ryan was at Google for nine years as a Product Manager and Technical Program Manager before moving to the Toyota Research Institute as the Head of Product in early 2016. At Google, he was brought on to scale up operations on DoubleClick for Publishers in 2007. He then founded the Cloud Robotics group in 2009, and transitioned it into an effort around 3D content scanning and display within Google Research through 2012.

When Google acquired Motorola, he worked with Johnny Lee to get Project Tango off the ground in 2013 within the Advanced Technologies and Projects (ATAP) group.
