Event description

Description

Art is the result of externalising internal experiences - whether good or bad. The Mancunian State Exhibition captures each of my internal experiences in Manchester, influenced by multifarious external factors and artistically expresses them in a way that the ensuing art should spark curiosity with audience, regardless of my own vulnerabilities whilst creating them.

Art may evoke positive or negative emotions. Yet The Mancunian State should elicit positive reactions and create a conversation that seeks to entrench positive attitudes and correct social ills (where possible). This among others is what this exhibition seeks to address within Greater Manchester as an example to the rest of United Kingdom.

It is my belief therefore, that this show will reinforce activities of the local council as well as communities in Manchester at promoting the Mancunian heritage of love in diversity and inclusivity at various community levels regardless of religious, racial or economic differences.

In this light, I have been working on a body of works across Manchester and environs that externalise my experiences and perception of the Community through the decade.

It will be my utmost pleasure to invite you to support this event which promises to bring persons of profound social and business interests within communities across Greater Manchester and beyond. You will be playing a significant role in a unique opportunity to realise the objectives set below which includes helping homeless persons through Arts

  • To celebrate diversity in its true form in the Spirit of Manchester

  • To celebrate the city’s heritage and the community efforts to protect its own and;

  • To raise funds for a The Booth Centre - a Manchester based local charity looking after homeless people see www.boothcentre.org.uk
